Gaming Industry Topics And Thoughts
This is an expansion of my main index. On occasion, I’ve written about the gaming industry in general through the lens of different games. Along with entry into contests that might have just been inspired by some gameplay or my thoughts on certain game topics. A bit of a mix bag here in what you get.

Do Item Resellers In Video Games Add Value?
This one is another tricky subject in the gaming world. On one side someone just buys up the market and a monopoly controlling interest the supply side of things driving the price beyond what you were hoping. On the other, they do take the risk and if they don’t right they could be the ones left holding the bag and taking a loss on an item.
Epic Games Goes After Apple
Things are about to get spicy in the world of mobile apps as Epic Games got the boot on Apple for offering alternative payment processing.
Gamers Are Angry At Their Lord And Savior Gabe!
Sometimes we just don’t like change or would prefer companies to have spent resources and time into other areas of their product.
Has Easy Of Information Degraded Gaming And Critical Thinking Within Them
There are so many tools, guides, and videos these days it’s just not like the old days where you had to come up with stuff yourself. Sometimes it’s great to have the ability to look up something you are struggling with but at what cost does that have on one's ability to problem solve?
Some Games Just Don’t Vibe With You
Sometimes for many reasons, you try and like a game but that just does not work out. Maybe it had a bad start. Maybe you ran into game-breaking bugs. Sometimes it’s just the little things that make the game not fun. I go over one game where I could not find a redeeming quality to keep playing it.
Holiday Event Done Right
While the gaming industry sure has its hand full of endless scandals and controversy I on occasion try to highlight what I think a company is doing right. In this example Art Survival evolved has created a blueprint of sorts on how they run events. It’s done in a fun way for the player to enjoy the holiday event without it being so bloated down trying push product for the player to buy. Every major season event we so many games hold events that are more about spending money than the player having fun playing.
I Use to Love Nintendo Products
Before I was just into computers I had some gaming consoles. I still have some of them around as well. Not quite sure if blowing on the cartridge would get them to work these days. Always interesting how the companies you grew up enjoying their productions don’t always make the cut when you can make your own informed decisions.
Loot Boxes And Gambling
This one can be quite a sticky topic for some with governments even trying to outlaw it. Is it gambling that is targeting kids or a legitimate form of selling goods in a video game? I have never been a big fan of loot boxes or whatever names they try and go by. I’d rather just pay a flat fee and know what I’m getting ahead of time with the full game being unlocked.
Managing Expectations Of Players Using Communication
Some game developer is good at under-promising and over-delivering while others can’t seem to get off the hype train over every little thing. Somewhere I think you need to find a balance otherwise far too many players will be unhappy when they realize it was all hype and nothing else.
My Dream Game: Crafting And Gathering
For a while, I ran several contests every couple of weeks that had fun gaming topics. This was one post I made after it was over as I wanted to explore the topic and have fun.
Scammers In Video Games
Even in the virtual worlds of games. Some people focus on nothing but to swindle and steal their way to whatever they desire. I take a look at several games I’ve played over the years and some stuff people have tried to pull from Eve online to Path of Exile.
Spending For Future Content Creation Plans
Creating content around so many different games in a single year can easily break a budget when you impulse buy or one of those got to have that you have been waiting for years on release. While I don’t always buy a lot during massive sales sometimes it’s just worth going for the bulk purchases and saving money for future use if there are enough games included at the right price.

Things To Consider Before Buying A Game
I go over quite a few things to consider such as early access, release day, and even reviewers. Along with the importance of not impulse buying, doing some research, and not buying into the hype.
What Makes A Good Tutorial In Games?
Often the first few moments in a game can be the deal-breaker between a player going deeper into that world or trying to get a refund. I know I have played a few games where I noped right out of them quicker than a fly on manure. If a game can’t get those critical first few moments’ rights I have little hope for the rest of the game.
Unreal Engine Makes Major Announcements
It is an exciting time to be a game developer using Unreal Engine these days. Leading up to now, Unreal Engine has been making major pushes showing off things like Quixel among other things. This has left a few bread crumbs for the community to ponder how Unreal Engine is going to allow the game developer to handle up to 8k resolution high-quality scans of 3D objects with ease.
Open Source Software I Use For Taking Screenshots In Games
You would think in this modern era every game and gaming platform out there would have a build-in screenshot option. While some massive platforms like Steam do. It’s shocking when you venture outside and discover it’s a bigger issue then it should be.
It Was So Bad The Store Page Was Removed
Possibly one of the worst games I ever played. Years of the developer doing very little while holding sales on every holiday possible trying to squeeze out every cent they. The community for years had to warn potential buyers before it was finally removed from the store.
When To Start A New Game In Alpha And Beta
Often when playing in early access games I see players struggle when they should start a fresh playthrough on their single-player game.
