Xenowars | Defense, Dungeon, And Dung
Path Of Exile | Stacking That Currency
While I have already spent a decent number of Divine Orbs into my delve character. I was going to need some quite pricy things. Quite a few of them would end up being in the range of 30 to 55 Divines each. That at the time was a lot. I was just hoping to save around 40 or so for a huge upgrade that would end up kicking things off.
Thankfully I ended up lucking out on some of the drops. My biggest money makers at the time were still scarabs and starting to be delve resonators and fossils. While out mapping or running delve I'd sometimes get lucky and have a bigger than expected item drop.
Slowly over time, the price of scarabs would end up dropping. Even more so on the less used ones as the markets just become flooded with them. Thankfully as long as I had enough gold the currency exchange still made it so easy to sell off almost any kind of scarab.
Once in a while, I'd get something like this Ultimatum scarab of catalyzing that went for 120 chaos orbs. More times than not I was just trying to keep all my trading slots filled.
I was also switching back and forth between my main and my new delve alt a lot. While the alt needed experience for levels. His gear was just not there yet to go off and do a bunch of different stuff. I also sometimes just wanted quick sulfate to go back into the delve mines since I was still able to progress down there on the main.
There would be instances where I'd have some synthesized maps stacking up that I knew the alt could not run. Since I was hoping for a big drop in any one of these, I'd go run them on the main. While I looted a couple of items, I was hoping would end up selling for a decent rate those items just sat around collecting dust.
Thankfully I had some other luck elsewhere. For whatever reason valdo’s puzzle box ended up being a drop I was getting more than expected while I was down farming delve. I was selling these things for almost a divine orb at the time and this must have been my fifth or sixth one this league so far.
While I have not looted that many divine orbs or even exalted orbs while out mapping. Delve again ended up being a place that would come to prove itself many times over as the place I was getting some decent loot out of.
Over time my trading slots would start to fill up with more and more items I was looting out of delve. It got to a point where I'd stop selling anything but the higher value scarab drops, I was getting in maps on the daily. I’d just switch to once or twice a week dumping any lower-value runes I had on the market then going back to filling those slots with delve drops.
It was not any surprise I'd end up going this route. Just in what I had up for sale in the screenshot above I had 371 chaos worth of delve drops for sale in four slots. Meanwhile in the remaining six slots were only 22 chaos worth. Sure, sometimes I’d need the filler here or there. That ended up being where scarab would end up getting a place for sale.
While I was expecting delve drops to take a heavy hit. Some quite late-night grinding sessions I'd discover I was in the middle of a market shortage. Some of the biggest delve players must been offline. Prices would skyrocket or there would be no one else even selling anything.
I lost count of how many times before heading to bed I'd list items for some crazy amount. I thought why not since there was a lack of competition during those hours. Many times, I'd log back into the game with things mostly unsold. Other times I'd log in and see I got double the price than what the morning prices were. This would end up going a long way in helping me get some better gear for the alt.
Every once in a while I'd start making it more of a common practice to go delving in the darkness. While I'd not find any of the biggest ticket resonators or fossils going that route. There were just market shortages everywhere.
I’d sometimes blow up a single fractured wall and walk away with 30 chaos or more in loot. Other times I'd be leaving with nothing. With how quickly I was going back over my already cleared spots in delve to go exploring in the darkness. It was hard to beat what I could get in loot in a short amount of time.
Sometimes while on my main own in delve I'd hit a spot I just could not progress any further in. It was slowly becoming apparent my alt was going to be needed more and more often.
I would even start to leave behind some decent valued fossil sites that I just could no longer clear due to the amount of damage they tossed at me. These would sit waiting to be collected when the day my alt became powerful enough to take them on.
I was also starting to pick up many of the different void stones to make the lower-tier maps higher tier. This was something I should have gotten around to doing sooner. I was however a little too focused on delve and many other activities in Path of Exile they just went on being ignored.
Some of those challenges however would be far too difficult on my mind. I was not getting him any better gear at this point. If anything, I was somewhat tempted to start selling his stuff off once it became clear my alt could stand on his own. If only I could have sold what I paid for his items. That would have made the transition a bit quicker. It appears I was a bit too late on doing so. Some of those items I'd end up selling off for less than half of what I paid for them. While other items I'd just save for any other future alts I'd end up making.
