V Rising | Final Bosses

Final bosses.jpg

There was a whole slew of bosses I ended up fighting. At this point, it all somewhat becomes a blur with just how many bosses there are. While most of them are not remembered at this point, the final ones are.

Now there were bosses like Azariel the Sunbringer, where I needed as much holy protection as I could. As natural, this one was inside of church that had the highest holy damage debuff in the game. I even had a new potion I crafted along with my gear, containing some protection. Without those things, I would not have stood a chance. With them, the Sunbringer brings the sun no more.

There was also a boss that I downed that gave perhaps the coolest transformations in the game. The ability to become a bat. This allowed flight and no longer needed to walk around the map. By that point, it became easy and quick to get just about anywhere on the map.

While using things like the Waygates was still quicker. Sometimes I’d just fly to a location instead, unless it was all the way across the map. It was just amazing to see the entire map from above. I even spent a couple of hours not doing anything useful. I was just flying around having a fun time.

At this point, I’m not shocked by much when it comes to V Rising. So when I discovered the final bosses all dropped a unique amulet with a powerful ability that took over the slot for your ultimate, you can call me interested.

That is, however, not where things end. While I’ve been playing either in my solo world or on a private server with friends. The amulets themselves, once you pick one up, allow you to be tracked on the map. As they show up as soul shards, and a device you build allows you to see anything or anyone on the map that has it. As you see, they are unique, and only one can drop at a time. Unless you change server settings, which on a private server you can.

On a PvP server, it seems killing these last couple of bosses and picking up an amulet if one has not been looted yet is just asking for trouble. Everyone can see where you are at any time. I can only assume the amount of attention and people trying to gank you for the unique item is quite a lot.

You also just can’t hide forever and only use the amulet on bosses, either. This is an item you can’t put down. There is also another cost of having it. The amulet itself slowly depletes over time. The only way to power it is by farming Incursion Rifts. On my server, this thing lasts a couple of days before needing to go out and recharge any of them.

The amulet drops from the last four remaining bosses, and they are no pushovers. Even once you have the amulet, it’s not really powerful enough to carry you either. The biggest challenge, however, is just getting your hands on one of these in the first place.

These fights were so challenging, in fact. For many of them, I’d have to wait for it to be a blood moon. I was also having to craft weapon poison. I was even considering changing up my weapon types. That alone would have been quite a pain as I’d need to grind once again a lot of shards.

The first of these bosses I ended up talking down was Solarus the Immaculate. To my shock, it only took one death to learn enough about the fight to push my way to a win on my second attempt. While he was not the first of these bosses for me to attempt. I was just glad to have found one that I could take down.

What I ended up finding rather funny about the whole thing is that I ended up having to craft an amulet from the boss I killed just before them. Just to instantly replace it with the unique amulet. It kind of felt wasteful of resources. I, however, needed the small amount of gear level it gave me. Without it, I stood zero chance.

dracula set.jpg

There is also something rather interesting. Each of these final bosses unlocks the next tier of gear. Since I’m using Shadowmoon from tier eight, I’d be using the Dracula set. While the set itself only gives you one level higher gear level. You are also losing one gear level from your tier eight gear once you lose your four-set bonus. Which the Dracula set lacks. As such, while it’s an upgrade, crafting and wearing your first piece of the set. You are, in fact, not gaining any gear level till you get your second piece. This was somewhat annoying as I needed all the help I could get.

So I went out and fought a few more bosses. Till they were defeated, and now my gear level was 91. Many of them required quite a few attempts. At this point, I was starting to take some time off from playing the game. I was also playing on a private dedicated server at this point, trying to catch back up (but I never would with a group) to where I was in my solo game.

Dracula The Immortal King.jpg

All that remained was Dracula the Immortal King. To say he was not very kind to a melee build would be an understatement. I’d go in there and just instantly get killed. It’s not like I was expecting an easy fight, and I sure was not going to get one either.

It was like beating your head on a wall, hoping to crack the wall. At some point, it works. It’s, however, quite a dragging experience. I was, however, slowly making some progress. That, in the end, is all that mattered. At some point, I’d come back with all my buffs running during a blood moon and just finish things off.

Sometimes I’d go in and just get his health a little lower. In other runs, I’d know I made a mistake and just let it reset. I don’t want to give too much away about the fight. After all, only a small percentage of players in the game have beaten the final boss. This game sure did not disappoint in the final boss, I’ll give them that.

Final Thoughts

I’ve had an insane amount of fun in this game. So much so, I ended up starting over a couple of times. Each time, I never did quite make it as far as I did in my solo game while playing with others. This game can be a bit time-consuming.

In the end, I played over 160 hours. That to me is a sign of a gave I had a crazy good time in. Yes, the game, after a while, just felt like I was there to just kill bosses to unlock the next items I then needed to grind materials for. That also made it rather thrilling each time I’d kind of get stuck and then burst my way through a bunch of more bosses to end up in the same situation all over again.
