Making Billions During Capsuleer Day XXIII Warpath Event In Eve Online

Capsuleer Day XXIII Warpath event in Eve Online itself started on April 30th and is expected to end on May 26th. It is also expected that some further content will roll out following the event. Including a further reward track.

This event itself in Eve Online is how players get Society of Conscious Thought ships. These ships only require spaceship command 1 to fly them. Making them great for alphas, new players, or alts.

Most players, about a month leading up to this event, started offloading any remaining supply of ships that they had farmed from last year’s event. As the price drops on them closer to the event, and during.

Any players are after the Praxis. It’s a battleship that makes it easy for alts to get into something quite powerful without having to have insane skills for. It is also the ship that is most often used by gankers who use smartbombs to take people out in low-security and null-security. These ships can be rather annoying. They also sell for a lot more than the other ships.

As far as getting the ships themselves. You need to earn a total of 1k points during the event. You can see I’ve already earned all but the Praxis. Along with 75 plex and some other rewards. I’m expecting the reward track to be expanded to 1,500 points. I’m sitting on some unclaimed tasks that will get me close.

Naturally, the first thing I went out to experience was Data Site Warpath Intelligence Cache sites. Farming enough of them gets you 500 points for the event in total. Not including any bonus repeat tasks you run for the data sites themselves. These can be found in High-Security to Wormhole space. While the plan was to do a lot of data site hacking in wormhole space. Since the better site can spawn in wormholes. I ended up finding not as many sites to run in wormholes space for the event. Meanwhile, the high-security place I like to roam for events was just swarming in these sites.

I also discovered during my Anathema Adventures. While I was exploring wormholes. Hoping to find the harder event data site. That my Anathema, the ship I use to do most of my exploration in. Was not permitted in the harder sites. Along with the fact that it felt like I was getting around the same amount of loot in the Warpath Intelligence Cache, regardless if I was running them in high-security or wormhole space.

As far as Warpath Intelligence Cache sites themselves. They feature two data containers and drop everything from Warpath Strategic Data that sells at a standard rate to NPCs for 200k ISK each. Along with Warpath Operational Intel. These two items always dropped in every container.

The Warpath Operational Intel could be sold to other players or exchanged at a vendor for items. Dropped heavily in price. I ended up lucking out on the first day of the event. I found a wormhole that took me just a couple of jumps away from Jita. So, I offloaded my Warpath Operational Intel at quite high prices. Before the markets ended up tanking. I made about a billion ISK off the Intell on the first day of the event.

210m implant drop.jpg

My best drop so far out of one of these data sites was an implant I ended up selling for 210 million ISK. Usually, when stuff like this is dropping, you expect the price to drop a bit. This one seemed to be quite desired for the current event.

While the data sites were fun. I ended up doing decently well running the new combat site as well. They are like Faction Warfare sites. Where you need to capture and keep clear defense points. In high-security, there are frigate and cruiser size sites combat sites to run.

warpath defence site.jpg

I ended up farming a few of the Warpath Defense Complex sites in a Retribution. They are quite easy to solo in a frigate. They also just have a single defense point you need to defend and capture to earn points till you win.

While they pay out less Warpath Operational Intel than the cruiser sites. They can be run a lot quicker. I also ended up lucking out and getting some 7 million up to 100 million ISK implants to drop as well.

For these, you just need to capture the point for 5 minutes with no enemies attacking it. Anytime some rats attack, the sites become contested, and you stop earning points till they are taken out.

If you are not there long enough to defend the site itself. There are some blue rats that they fight with. Once they are taken out, you start losing points. The site then either is a win or a fail, depending on if you hit 300 points for a win. Otherwise, if you run out of time or on the harder sites when a defense point reaches zero. Things are a little more forgiving in the Warpath Defense Complex.

After warming up on some of the frigate sites. I ended up switching over to Warpath Defense Grid sites. These have three points that need to be defended and captured. Thankfully, they all start with some points, as once they reach zero, you lose that defense point and get a smaller reward at the end.

I found these sites themselves not that bad to be two-boxing with. I just had an alt hold a point. I’d then fly my main between other points, clearing as needed. Then I’d try to gain points while I could.

Once the point the main was captured on that point. Things got a lot easier. Dealing with two points at once was not that hard.

This site is ideal for three players. The corporation I’m in ended up running quite a few of the Warpath Defense Grid sites. At first, when testing these sites, we tried running them in T3 ships. Those, however, do not count, and we did not get any points. You have to run them in T2 cruisers or lower. Even a T2 Frigate like my Retribution is able to capture a point.

zealot used.jpg

I kind of wished I could have used my T3 Legion for running these sites. I was, however, not at all disappointed. As I went and picked up my rather unused Zealot. Zealots are quite a beast of a laser boat themselves. I love flying them when I can have a great excuse to do so.

Once everything worked out. I ended up running quite an insane amount of the cruiser sized sites. For quite a while, I was rather disappointed with the loot. Sure, you got a lot more Warpath Operational Intel. However, it did not take too many days in the event for them to drop to such a low price. They stopped feeling like they were worth farming these sites just for them. A couple of days at each site you would get about 60 million worth of them. When prices were still high enough to support that. It was not so bad that far more valuable drops were not being acquired.

Compared to the data site and the frigate sites. I don’t know if we were just not getting lucky or what. Anytime an implant would drop, it was like 5 to 15 million ISK once. Then on our final run one night. We had a Genolution Core CA-4 drop that has an estimated value of 532 million. Prices had dropped a bit, so I listed for our corporation at 400 million. While it’s not sold yet, prices are dropping a bit lower. We are in no rush to sell.

Final Thoughts

some random loot during the event.jpg

It would be nice if they tossed in something far unexpected during the remainder of the event. I, however, don’t see that happening. Still, events like these are always fun. I was hoping to get a lot more ship skin drops than I’ve gotten so far. As they tend to be where I make some decent ISK off events.
