Time Treker | Ordovician Zone Region

Ordovician Zone Region.jpg

It was time to enter into the Ordovician region which for now is the hardest part of the game before dealing with the final boss encounter. I was going quite strong at this point and I would not believe just how quickly it felt going through this stage of the game.

This is the part of the game where towards the end of every timeline point incursion, I was in that waves of creatures would become so thick I could almost get trapped and killed. That almost happened during one boss encounter. At least the first couple were a little more chill than that.

I ended up clearing all 10 points of the timeline without a single failure in Ordovician. I also did not get a single armory run from any of the domain constructions I ended up getting. I was also shocked by the lack of boss fights I'd end up getting as well. A couple of them would just end up being rewards only and no encounter. Making this region go by quite quickly when working on the side domain constructions that pop up as you clear the region.

The first timeline point I got in this region I rocked with fire on anything that came into my path. This ended up working out quite well since I needed to kill 550 flying creatures. More times than not with the damage output I had there was no need to even use my ability and burst them to them. They were long dead before even coming into my short-range blade damage.

All the crystals I'd be looting would now be going into my attributes as well. It also did not take long for me to finish off the last couple of weapon mods that needed to be level three. Once that was done, I would only be picking weapons as level rewards.

I’d then hold off on selling those weapons to around level four and turning them into crystals. There is a small bonus amount of crystal to be earned for selling higher-level weapons than the combined lower-level ones. While it would have been best to level them to five, I was not willing to wait.

I have been a bit shocked by how few times I've had activating light towers as objects for this run. I was already kind of lacking in boss kills. It seems this run was more about total kills than anything else. At least I did get one objective that wanted me to have three light towers up. Which I ended up doing with lots of time remaining on the clock.

I did end up getting one nasty boss encounter where I thought for sure I was going to get killed. I got trapped in the middle of four bosses. Every time I got some nasty hits my health would drop down to 80, 40, and then 10%. Every time I thought this was the moment I'd be failing a timeline point. Yet somehow, I survived.

That is perhaps one downside to the character I'm playing. No movement ability to get myself out of this kind of trouble. It was one I was attempting to avoid for most of this run. They however got lucky when the first two corruption I killed respawned as four. I was trapped despite trying to get out of it. I could not till I had half of them taken down.

Once that had passed things only got crazier from there. The kind of screen-filled insanity playing a game like this is all about. Massive spam of damage tickets, experience being earned, and more crystals than I could get my hands on dropping.

At this point, I was starting to max my attributes out one by one after each timeline point, I had conquered. I ended up going for survival first since I wanted to get as much defense as I could after that boss encounter. I ended up finishing focus last despite how much I'd love more pickup radius.

Endgame Battle

It was then time for the last fight of the timeline. Success or failure you only get one shot at it. Once the timer runs out if you are even still alive it’s all over. No chance to return to any other points on the timeline. I did make sure to finish off everything before attempting the last area.

There ended up being two light towers not that far from each other. I decided to take the risk to get them up. At worst, I could stand between them and they would take out some of the weaker non-boss creatures. While also doing some damage to each of the bosses on occasion if they ended up getting too close to them.

This ended up being my fastest takedown of the final bosses. I had them all killed with around three minutes remaining on the clock. It was quite insane as the first few times I played I'd have been lucky to take down all the bosses except for Tyrant.

While Tyrant was still the last boss I had to finish off. He was not that much of a challenge to me this time around. I did not even worry too much about any damage I was taking. I had quite a decent amount of defense and more than enough health to take some hits if needed.

For all the fun I had I also acquired 18 more tech points to spend. While this would mark the lowest amount I've gotten from a single run. All the easy stuff I've finished off now. A lot of the stuff is things like getting 80k enemies killed in a single run which I've come up a bit short since I did not need to repeat any timeline point.

Final Thoughts

timeline saved.jpg

I ended up saving a timeline and getting some tech points to spend on my efforts. This is around my eighth run now of the game and it’s still a blast to play. It looks like in my spare time I might try winning the timeline on some of the other characters now since you get some tech points for doing so.

For the time being I'm going to keep my eye on this game since it is still in early access. I can’t wait for the infinite battlefield to end up getting added.
