It was time to get some personal revenge and some for the Light faction as well. I’d end up returning to Avlee and smacking them down. Then heading off to some islands I've never been to before.
I was back in Avlee wanting to test out a new fancy spell I had picked up. My sorcerer now could cast meteor shower that dropped large rocks onto creatures. I just had to be careful to not cast that spell if anything was near me. It auto-targets the nearest creature and if you are in the explosion range it hurts a lot.
I wish I had a decent screenshot of the spell in action. I was having so much fun with the spell. By the time I was down to just rounding up any hydra I could find fleeing from me in Avlee it was a little too late to use the spell any further.
This at least now let me wander around Avlee without worry of anything doing much of anything to me. I then happened to have found The Temple of Baa. I’m sure the Light would love to have one of their temples burnt to the ground so I invited myself inside. Baa is evil for those who have never played Might and Magic before.
Once you zoned in there were two massive ramps leading down to either an east or west direction. This zone ended up connecting up in the middle so it matters little which side you went down. You could just go up the other side and do a nice clean full clear of the place.
This place had quite a few evil things inside. I was kind of shocked by the lack of spiders so far in the game and for whatever reason they were in this temple. Along with some devils because these people are evil. Along with some clerics of the moon. Everything in this dungeon moved fast and died even quicker.
I wish I had discovered this dungeon sooner. I would have snuck in for that kind of loot. One of the chest pieces and the belt ended up being an upgrade. After such a long drought of finding upgrades. It seems over these past few adventures I've been on. Things are starting to turn around for loot again.
Once I was done with that dungeon I headed over to the other dungeon in Avlee. Despite how powerful my characters have grown. They still stood no chance. So, I took what was left of our poor little souls and got us out of that deadly place.
Since I was already doing things that my new friends of the Light would like. I decided why not try and work on one of the quests I was given. I needed to travel to a place called Evermorn Islands.
This place ended up quite a pain to track down. You could only get there by two different boats in the game. Thankfully the word island gave me enough of a context clue I had a feeling I could not walk there and thus I'd have to take a boat. I however went to the boat in Tularean Forest that only seems to go there once a week. Lots of waiting around wondering if I was being a moron till I discover I was a genius!
For the level of progression, I had to make just to have a quest to go out here for. I was a little disappointed at how easy everything was. I could have cleared the island in my sleep. The two dungeons I found were hardly any harder. I was a little shocked one of them attempted to attack me since we were supposed to be on the same side.
The first dungeon I ended up hitting on the island was the Grand Temple Of The Moon. I needed to destroy their evil dark alters on the inside as part of the quest I was on. All the other murdering I'd go on to do on the island was just for pure fun no quest required!
I wish I could say the room I found an open ceiling in had the moon showing in it. It was instead an overcast of a bunch of clouds. It was still quite an amazing thing to look at for how old this video game is.
The loot on the other hand in this place was a bit disappointing. I did end up looting a cloak that increased the power of dark spells. Just one small issue with that. I’ll never be able to use dark spells. This did however get me to wonder if the same kind of item would end up dropping in the other dungeon.
I then started clearing out further of the island to progress along. The first island you land on is the biggest. I went around it twice to make sure nothing was left moving.
It then had a bridge that took me over to another decent-sized but smaller island. This one had the other dungeon on it. After this island, I'd need to use water walking or flying to get to the remaining islands in the area.
Nothing like quickly being able to do two dungeon runs within such a short distance of each other. I was expecting since this was the Grand Temple Of the Light that everything in there would be peaceful towards me. After all, they have an altar of the light that I'm not supposed to destroy.
While the place was nice and bright. They did not take kindly to me stopping up unannounced. It was also such a short dungeon I did not even bother getting screenshots of the inside.
There were mostly just priests of the light and monks. I did end up finding quite a few stat barrels inside to do some drinking out of. That is always a plus. Everything else was a bit of a blur.
By the time I had finished the second temple, it was into the night. The next island also had some harder but still easy things to take out like shades among the easy stuff like skeletons. Some spark damage took them out quite fast.
I still had a blast exploring the rest of the islands in the region. A few of them had some decaying buildings on them. Most were just foundations remaining. Some would have a couple of walls like a bank or something. It was clear there used to be a town here and then they became overrun by the current inhabitants of the islands.
There were however still some people remaining with their homes or businesses intact. Right in the middle of the islands was a shop for water spells. I was hoping they would have the spell Llyod’s beacon for sale inside. Sadly, it was a no.
After that, I just felt like I was no longer welcome on Evermorn Island. I had killed just about anything that wanted to kill me anyway. Along with finishing off the quest I came for.
So, I town ported out back to Celeste. No need for me to waste time on the boat to get back to the maintenance. Finishing off this quest unlocked my ability to use light magic! I must have dropped almost another 100k gold on some very expensive light magic books.
It was about time I would unlock some powerful spells. Now dragging my casters through this game and always spending healing on keeping them alive. Along with so much gold on gear, spells, and bringing them back from the dead. It almost seems worth it!
