Cyberpunk 2077 | A Bit Of Random Fun

random fun.jpg

Sometimes it’s just nice to set out in a game and whatever random thing you run into you end up doing. I decided it was time to do some driving around in my car. I had no idea where I was going or what I would end up doing in the process.

One thing the city is filled with is tarot card graffiti. You can even go around scanning them and adding them to a collection. For what perhaps I might never find out.

I must have come across a dozen or so of them in total if not more. I have even a separate folder to place screenshots of them inside. For what purpose I'm still not quite sure. They are not quite that exciting to make an entire post just about them. They are, however, something fun to come across while out exploring.

Sometimes I'd have to go quite out of my way to find them. Other times they would just be right there waiting to be discovered. Early in the game, I ended up just passing by quite a few marked locations for them. Not even knowing they were something special you could seek out and collect in a way.

Other times before I'd go out on a random adventure around the city. I’d head over to the auto fixer page and just buy a new car. Sometimes I just wanted to try something different and see how it handled on the road. For the most part, I hated every single car except the one I was usually driving around in.

At one point I even attempted to buy every single one of them. It turns out I did not even come close to completing that kind of goal. I was so short I ended up just reverting to a former game save to get all my money back.

the car.jpg

Some of the cars in this game are just amazing to look at in all the detail they provide. This one was well not cheap or the most expensive out there. Drivers like something crazy. Taking it out to long stretches of roads that lack anyone else using that road can be quite a lot of fun. This usually ended with me heading for the badlands doing my best to stay on the road as I aimed for maximum speed.

There is even a mission for racing in this game. I never cared much for it. I found it more fun just to drive around like a crazy person than to try and compete with others to get some kind of record lap.

More times than not with my driving I was lucky to have a car still working after a long grinding session. Many times, I'd have to limp in whatever was remaining of a car to get some repairs. The doors, hood, and even tires were sometimes missing. Other times the car would just be flipped upside down and there was nothing I could do but to pay for it to be repaired and re-summon it to a different location.

black market.jpg

While driving around even now sometimes I'll hit a section of the game where my in-game cell keeps going on with a bunch of gig offers from random people. In one such instance, a hospital worker was extorting the black market for even more than the usual rate.

He dealt with implants for transplants such as kidneys. Those getting the black-market transplants would discover a virus was put on the implant. Now that seems like a cold way to go about trying to make an extra buck off people and to even get people to do what you want. It also seems like the ideal people to go after. Since after all they are already acquiring black market goods. Once someone is willing to go that far it seems to be a prime target to be taken further advantage of.

random assault.jpg

More times than not while driving around the random thing I'd run into was yet another assault in progress. Sometimes I'd leave one assault location and did not even make it back into my car before discovering another.

Other times, I'd get back into my car and not even make it two blocks down before turning the car down an alleyway. Pulling out a sniper rifle of some sort before proceeding to take out any hostile targets.

It was content like this that made the city feel more alive than it truly was. Once you finish off all the assaults in the area. You soon realize that was it. That they were not as random as you might have thought they were.

As I slowly started to work on finishing off more random content in the game. The further it seemed area of the game was getting to feel that kind of dead feeling. You have done everything possible, and you might as well move on to another section in hopes of finding something to do.

another crime.jpg

In my case that was usually just another reported crime. I was always hopeful at some point I'd find a gun better than anything else I've used before. One that I found to be a better loaded out for my kind of playstyle.

As a result, many times I'd just run around picking up the kind of weapon that had dropped that I don’t recall seeing before. Using it for some target particle for whatever thing I happened to find myself engaging with now.

It has been a while since I've swapped out any of my weapons. At best I just keep upgrading them. It’s like I've found quite a while ago the ideal weapon for me. It’s just a shame they don’t do a bit more damage. Otherwise, it’s one of those parts of the game where I don’t even check weapon drops anymore. I’m just turning them into scrap to use for other upgrades.

judy.jpg

There are also just those rather strange interactions with certain NPCs when you think about it. Judy for instance has a bit more of a story going on than appears. It’s also not In-depth enough to keep you going down a rabbit hole

It is at least fun while out driving around to get that phone call from an NPC you've been so wanting to see if there is any more of a storyline for them. Even more so when it comes to ones like Judy where it feels like things are not fully done with her yet. Then again there is only so much I'm looking for since I tend to spend time with other NPCs just as equally if not longer.

Final Thoughts

end.jpg

This is one of those games I do wish there was more to do after you have finished off the main storyline. Don’t get me wrong, there is loads to already do. I just know at some point the fun will come to an end and I'll have to move on to playing something else.

While I've more than supposed the midway point on my way to playing this game for 100 hours. I don’t see myself fully making it to the 100-hour mark. Granted these days it seems getting more than 30 hours of play in a game is what most are expecting. I should at least be doubling that number without needing a DLC to get me there.
