Planet Crafter | The Warden Puzzle
Sometimes an adventure finds you. I was not expecting something like this to be on the planet. It did end up being quite an interesting little mystery to run through.
I was running through a cave I must have been through a dozen or so times by now. I noticed I had missed some resources off to the corner of it. As I approached those resources to mine them, I realized there was an open area that I never realized was there before.
I don’t know if something was blocking it beforehand. If I had just been in such a rush so many times through this cave to get elsewhere that I kept overlooking it. All I do know is I found something called the Warden’s Alter.
Even more strange it had a Warden’s Key on the top that I could take. There was also a set of coordinates to a location on the planet. Not having anything else planned to do for that day I decided I might as well go check it out.
Once I arrived at the location that was inside of another cave. There was another stand to place the key I had looked at. I could also tell there was a door behind it.
The oddest thing of it all. I could have sworn I had been around this area before. I never noticed a door or a place to put a key into. Almost like none of this excised me until I picked up the first key to this puzzle.
Behind that door was quite a long corridor. It then forked off into two directions. One led to a note left behind by the Warden talking about picking somewhere to remain hidden and the effort that went into finding such a place.
Needless to say, that was all I needed to be told. This warden took his people to somewhere they felt they could be safe. I wanted to know more about whatever they took with them.
In the other chamber at the end of the corridor was a second key. Along with another set of directions to go. There was one final chamber that went off overlooking a cliff with some advanced buildings in the background that I could not reach.
As one should not be shocked that location ended up being in yet another cave. I ended up having a little trouble finding the entry point into the cave. Just having an idea where the next place to put a key was not simply enough. I had to find the exact cave system it would be located in.
Like before once I placed the key on the pedestal another door opened to reveal yet another long passageway. This passageway ended up going on for quite some time. It ended up taking me through a little city underground.
The fact that I've seen no evidence that there was at one point or another a large enough civilization on this planet to have an entire city was mind-blowing. Sure, I've seen a few wrecked ships along the way. I’ve even once found a mass graveyard of tombstones. Still, nothing pointing to people having built something massive on this planet.
This place was quite massive. I spent some time wandering around it hoping to find a bunch of stuff to loot. It looks like whoever used to live here ensured that very little would be left. It could also be possible that some other looter had beaten me to this place.
After going up a couple of floors on the outside of one of the buildings. I followed a narrow path that took me to this giant floating orb. It was quite a strange sight to see.
I have no clue what was keeping the giant orb floating like it was. I just had this feeling that it was important to know where this orb was. At the time I had no idea what it was or why it was there.
I then found a letter talking about what I can only assume to be the white floating ball as a device. It was created to stop any humans from landing on this planet let alone surviving here.
It seems all the crashed wrecks I kept finding scattered all over the planet could have possibly been caused by the white floating ball that I had found.
The ball was also serving a second purpose. It was supposed to stop any communications on this planet to elsewhere. I suppose since the people I work for never want me replying to them I was not aware that sending messages back was not even possible. It would however seem that receiving messages from off this planet was still possible despite the device I had found.
Not that far away I also looted yet another key with another set of coordinates to visit. I ended up finding another two keys in the area as well for a total of three. At this point, I was starting to wonder how many more of these things I would have to visit. As it turns out this adventure was about to be over.
The next altar I found was not in a cave. Instead, it was up a mountain. After placing the next key on the altar. A door formed in the mountain behind with a path leading deep behind a mountain.
This path was even longer than the rest of them combined. If what I had found in the last location was a city. Then I must have now found their capital as it was a massive single building.
There were also ramps on the left and right side of the building leading up to the top. While I walked up to the front door of the building at first. It was closed and it looked like I needed five more keys before I could enter.
So, I started to explore what I could of the surrounding area. Occasionally I even found yet another key. What ended up being so strange about this place was that I could not use my jetpack to move around. I was stuck having to use the ladders, tree roots, and other paths to get around the outside of the building.
After I acquired the keys and walked inside I was greeted with a single massive central room. There were golden butterflies flying all around with two golden chests to be looted in the middle.
This is one of those adventures where I did not feel the loot was worth it as it was not a lot. What was worth it was getting to see some cool locations and a little back lore in something far deeper going on regarding this planet than I was expecting.
The chests themselves hold the standard stuff you expect to find in golden chests. A golden flower each. Along with some further golden statues that I added to my collection. Funny enough in my old base that is now at the bottom of a lake I have another collection that I never bothered to reclaim and move to the new base.
